MonarchBase
Welcome to MonarchBase.
MonarchBase is an integrated database for the monarch butterfly, Danaus plexippus. Here we provide access to extensive genomic and biological information, including genome assembly, gene set, gene families, migratory expression profiles and microRNAs.
The monarch genome project is based out of the laboratory of Steven M. Reppert at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in collaboration with Jeffrey L. Boore of Genome Project Solutions. The project is funded by NIH grant GM086794-02S1.
The draft sequence of the monarch genome and its characterization have been published in Zhan et al., 2011.
NOTE: An improved version of the assembly (v3) will be released soon.
